This 6-day training course is very intensive with lots of massage and focus is placed on making the student confident in giving a full body massage. During the training, the focus is also placed on the emotional and spiritual effects of massage therapy.
What is the best massage oil to use?
We continually get asked for recommendations regarding massage oil.
Here at High Spirits Retreat, we use tasteless coconut oil because we believe it is gentle on the skin. However, it has to be heated in the winter and, over time, clogs drains. So, it's not perfect!!
Which massage oils are you using, and why would you recommend it?

Having recently shared time in the car with some very insightful students, (airport transfer) our conversation soon centered around the idea of reaching happiness through discomfort. This inspired me to write a blog on the subject. Growing up with sports and gymnastics, I always considered massage a tool to manipulate muscles. However, after being involved in massage courses here at High Spirits Retreat, for more than 30 years, I see the profound healing that can come from guiding a client's emotional responses to physical touch toward a state of happiness, even if the experience during the massage is uncomfortable.
